About
About Focus Evaluations
Focus Evaluations is an assessment-focused practice. We provide comprehensive ADHD and psychoeducational evaluations for children, teens, students, and adults, and we deliver a written report that can be used for accommodations, educational planning, and treatment decisions.
Assessment is all we do. That focus is deliberate: a thorough evaluation depends on structured history-taking, validated testing, careful differential diagnosis, and a report that stands up to review by the people who receive it.
Two assessment pathways
ADHD assessment
For adults, students, and professionals who want a diagnostic answer rather than a screening score. Includes differential diagnosis, and documentation that can support workplace accommodations, university disability services, and treatment planning.
ADHD assessment pathwayPsychoeducational assessment
For children, teens, university students, and adults with concerns about reading, writing, mathematics, attention, or learning. Includes cognitive and academic testing, and reports written for IEP/504 teams, schools, and college disability services.
Psychoeducational assessment pathwayWhat an assessment includes
- A structured clinical interview covering history, current functioning, and the referral question.
- Validated, standardized testing selected for the specific question being asked — not a fixed one-size battery.
- Collateral information where relevant, such as parent, teacher, or partner rating scales and prior records.
- A feedback session explaining the findings in plain language.
- A written report with scores, interpretation, diagnostic conclusions, and specific recommendations.
How we work
Diagnostic independence
Assessments are conducted to answer the referral question accurately. A diagnosis is never a foregone conclusion, and we say so directly when the data do not support one.
Reports built to be used
A report is only useful if the school, university, employer, or treating clinician who receives it can act on it. Ours are written with that reader in mind.
Clear scope before we start
You will know what the assessment includes, roughly how long it takes, and what you receive at the end before any testing begins.
Clinicians and licensure
Assessments are conducted and supervised by licensed clinicians in the jurisdictions where they are licensed to practice.
